Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and motivated IT Operations Engineer to join our team, with a strong focus on networking, VPN technologies, incident management and cloud environments. The ideal candidate will have experience in AWS and cloud infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in ensuring that our alarm data/traffic is transmitted reliably and securely, making sure all alarms get through without fail. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Design, implement, and manage secure VPN environments within a cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity and transmission of alarm data across various business units over mobile networks. 
• Develop and maintain network infrastructure on AWS to ensure high performance, security, and reliability for alarm data traffic, with a focus on mobile connectivity. 
• Be part of the incident response team 
• Automate monitoring and infrastructure management using modern IT/DevOps tools and methodologies within AWS to support critical alarm data flow over mobile networks. 
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and efficiency, with a robust focus on the integrity of alarm data delivery, especially through mobile networking. 
• Keep up with industry trends and advancements in IT Operations, mobile networking, and VPN technologies and evaluate their potential impact on current systems with respect to alarm data integrity. 
• Drive incidents and problems within the connectivity area and its suppliers (ie SIM, mobility).
• Work closely with R&D DevOps organization during deployment of critical applications and services.

Who are you and what are your qualifications? 

• Proven experience as a IT Operations Engineer or in a similar role, with a focus on networking, VPN, AWS environments, and mobile networks. 
• Experience of incident management processes and tools
• Strong knowledge of AWS services and architecture, including experience with network protocols and technologies, particularly regarding mobile data networks. 
• Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and experience in automation tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, Kubernetes) with AWS integrations. 
• Experience with VPN technologies and tools (e.g., OpenVPN, IPSec). 
• Understanding of security and compliance principles in cloud and mobile environments, especially concerning sensitive data like alarm traffic.

Skills we would love to see:

• Experience with mobile networking and SIM card technologies.  
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and log management (e.g., Prometheus, ELK Stack, Grafana) within AWS, focusing on alarm data traffic through mobile networks. 
• Certification in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS certified network specialty).
