Graduate Program: Backend Developer – Do It Yourself Services (DIYs)

About the Graduate Program 

Our Graduate Program is designed for students graduating in 2025 who are eager to transition into the professional world. It offers hands-on experience, mentorship, and a structured career development path. As a participant, you will be involved in real-world projects from the start, working closely with experienced colleagues in an agile and innovative setting. This program provides exposure to different aspects of software development while offering long-term career growth opportunities within Verisure. 

About the Role 

The Do It Yourself Services area at Verisure focuses on providing reliable support to our end customers for various DIY tasks related to their alarm systems. This includes services such as ordering and changing batteries in alarm components, replacing the central unit, and building functionality that allows our business to efficiently trigger, configure, and track DIY tasks. 

We are currently in a phase of significant improvements and architectural redesign, making this an exciting time to join the team. We follow an agile development process with strong test routines to ensure high-quality solutions. 

As a Graduate Backend Developer, you will: 

• Develop, analyze, and refine software, including automated tests. 
• Analyze software requirements to determine the feasibility of design. 
• Solve complex problems and bring fresh perspectives to existing solutions. 
• Work closely with team members, including developers, quality engineers, product owners, and scrum masters. 
• Collaborate with different parts of the organization in a diverse and inclusive team environment. 

Our Tech Stack 

• Frontend: Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, React | Nice: Ionic, HTML/CSS 
• Backend: Java, Microservices (Spring Boot) | Good: Jenkins, DevOps, Rest APIs, Sybase SQL/MySQL/MSSQL/Cassandra, RabbitMQ | Nice: GraphQL, ArgoCD 
• Automated Testing:  Python 

Who We Are Looking For 

We are looking for graduates who are eager to learn, take on complex tasks, and grow their skills in a structured and collaborative environment. You should: 

• Have an academic degree in computer science (or a related field), graduating in 2025. 
• Be comfortable working with modern backend development tools and technologies. 
• Have good English skills, both spoken and written. 
• Be a team player with strong problem-solving abilities and a structured approach to tasks.
