Job Description

Vipas AB is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Developer for a long-term assignment with one of our clients in the MedTech industry. This role requires a strong system understanding of software development for medical devices, including hardware connections and embedded system architecture. We are looking for a candidate with a deep passion for embedded development and experience working with multiple embedded platforms and operating systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize embedded software solutions for MedTech products.
• Understand and interpret customer needs and transform them into manufacturable designs.
• Work with various embedded platforms and operating systems to build robust solutions.
• Collaborate with hardware teams to ensure seamless integration of software and hardware components.
• Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and simple manner.
• Contribute to device driver development and real-time operating systems (RTOS) integration.
• Participate in team discussions and support both small and large project teams.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
• Strong proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience in device driver development.
• Familiarity with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
• Open-minded and passionate about embedded development.
• Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English.

• Experience with medical device software development (IEC 62304 compliance).
• Knowledge of open-source development and configuration management tools like Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, GitLab.
• Familiarity with connectivity standards (Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, LTE).
• Debugging experience using Jlink, ST-Link, Lauterbach, Trace32.
• Hands-on experience with measuring instruments such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Security expertise in keys, certificates, TLS/SSL.
• Experience with electronics hardware bring-up and bootloaders.
• Understanding of Embedded Linux, Yocto, Buildroot.
• Cloud communication knowledge using MQTT or REST.
• Exposure to safety-classified software development
