Job Overview

Within the IKEA Knowledge Graph Platform team, we are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Ontologist Leader to join us permanently. In this role, you will drive the adoption of the IKEA Knowledge Graph, as well as the onboarding of domain teams across the IKEA value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and mentor a team of Domain Ontologists, Knowledge Engineers, and Subject Matter Experts to develop high-quality ontologies and taxonomies.

· Engage with stakeholders across various companies to understand their needs and ensure seamless integration of ontologies within the IKEA Knowledge Graph.

· Design and take ownership of the core ontology for the IKEA Knowledge Graph, ensuring it supports all domain ontologies across the entire value chain, from product development through supply chain and customer experience globally.

· Champion the use of semantic web technologies to facilitate a wide range of use cases, ensuring the machine-readability and scalability of the Knowledge Graph.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align ontology development with business objectives and operational requirements.

· Provide strategic vision and direction for ontology projects, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and efficacy.

· Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and gather their buy-in and support.

For this position, we think that you are skilled in:

· Semantic Web Standards: Expertise in RDF(S), OWL, SKOS, SHACL, SPARQL, and other W3C standards in the semantic web area.

· Ontology Modelling: Proven experience in leading ontology modelling work with a deep understanding of knowledge graph architecture using triple stores.

· Quality Assurance: Experience in defining SHACL shapes or other validation methods to ensure quality and consistency in ontological models.

· Version Control: Proficiency in working with git for version control and reviewing turtle (ttl) files submitted to git.

· Technology Advocacy: Ability to represent Inter IKEA at vendor meetings and advocate for cross-company metadata usage and knowledge graph standards.

We also think you are good at:

· Collaboration: Proven ability to facilitate cross-company ontology alignment meetings and work collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.

· Advocacy and Communication: Strong skills in advocating for the knowledge graph to non-technical stakeholders, as well as teaching and mentoring others in semantic web technologies.

· Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with proficiency in English, adept at guiding and motivating cross-company teams towards common goals.

· Systematic Thinking: Keen ability to apply logical and systematic thinking to model complex areas and describe their interrelations effectively.

· Decision Making: Experience in making practical decisions on the application of semantic web standards to solve real-world problems.

· Team Leadership: Strong track record of leading and supporting teams in applying semantic web technologies, ensuring their effective implementation and success.

· Strategic Vision: Ability to provide strategic direction and articulate a clear vision for the development of the IKEA Knowledge Graph.

Additional Information

This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and is located in Malmö; Sweden. Some travel will be required.
