OVERVIEW

Straumann is a global leader in implant, restorative, and regenerative dentistry. Founded in 1954 in Switzerland, Straumann has grown to become a trusted name in dental solutions worldwide. THE SITE

Straumann Group Biora Manufacturing was founded in 1986 and counts today 35 employees. It develops and produces medical device products. Its leading product is Straumann® Emdogain®, an easy to apply protein-based gel used in different indications such as periodontal regeneration, gingival recession, and wound healing.

Straumann Group Biora Manufacturing specializes in biomaterials and proteins. We offer manufacturing services such as sterile packaging, stability studies and packaging services to the Straumann Group.

The Straumann Group Biora Manufacturing site is certified to ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 and compliant to other regulation and guidelines, including QSR 21 CFR 820, ISO 22442 and ISO13408.

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for Biora AB operation. Ensuring that Biora AB complies with ail statutory (legal) and regulatory requirements in all applicable areas, such as environmental requirements, employee and facility safety requirements, labour requirements, and quality system requirements. The applicable geographic areas are Sweden, where the company is based, and all geographies in which the company's products are marketed

as described in the company's Quality Manual.

This role is also responsible for continuously improving operations and overall plant performance, driving the implementation of operational excellence as well as of the digital transformation on his/her site.

As a member of the Global Manufacturing network lead team, he/she works in close collaboration with other sites in the manufacturing network and supports the global initiatives (e.g., People development, Lean and Culture Journey, ESG, COGS improvements, Digital transformation, Process innovation…).

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Focus: Strengthen collaboration with relevant business units and commercial teams to meet and exceed customer expectations.

Operational Excellence: Ensure reliable and compliant daily execution of manufacturing and supply chain operations across all departments.

Transformation for Growth: Lead transformative changes in manufacturing processes and operations to support the substantial growth of the Straumann Group.

Lean Manufacturing: Drive quality performance, efficiencies, and waste reduction through Lean Manufacturing principles.

Talent Development: Foster talent and capability growth within the manufacturing departments and lead the Lean and Culture journey.

• Represent the company (Biora AB) and to sign the company name. Special company signatory as referred to in Chapter 8, section 37 in the Swedish Companies Act (2005:551)
• Develop and execute Biora operational and strategic plans
• Leading the Management Team of Biora AB
• Ensure compliance with Straumann polices and guidelines within Biora AB
• Ultimate budgetary and financial responsibility
• In close cooperation with the Head of HR, inform and negotiate with Trade Union representatives as required by to law and collective agreements
• External relations with regard to Biora AB handling contact with the press and media, employers and industry associations, politicians, etc.
• Final decisions regarding local office facilities and their budgets.
• Coordination of local implementations, e.g. introductions of new corporate initiatives, policies and procedures, etc.
• Coordination and focus for local support functions.
• Ensuring safety responsibilities are adequately delegated; emphasis is on office and production environment. Local disaster plan co-ordination
• Ensuring environmental requirements are met within all applicable areas.
• Manage the contacts with the local Environmental Authorities and negotiate the approval for continued production.
• Ensure that Site operations comply with all Quality requirements as well as GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) in the shopfloor

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• Master’s degree in science
• Education within Biochemistry and/or Chemistry
• Experience from manufacture of pharmaceutical/medical device in a management position
• Considerable experience within GMP production
• Experience within co-ordination of several production units
• Demonstrated team building and leadership skills
• Working knowledge and experience in key operations best practices, including but not limited to Lean, Six Sigma, TQM, self-directed teams, and Kaizen
• Strong relationship management, strategy development, project management, problem-solving, and change management skills
• Professional and positive approach, self-motivated, strong in building relationships, team player, dynamic, and creative with the ability to work on own initiative
• Fluent written and spoken English & Swedish
